Bastion is a very odd card. Its effect is good in theory: it can enable Zoo lists to build a durable board. However, the card is totally uninteractive. Playing such a useless card early in the game can be game-losing. This peril is noticed by many players, resulting in Bastion never being played.
Another potential use for Bastion is protecting certain minions that are vital for combo's (such as the blazing spines summoned by Ice Age or Wraithlings) from dying to Homeostatic Rebuke, one of the most popular and widely used AOE removal spells in the game. However in these kinds of decks it is often quite hard to take a turn off to play Bastion as it doesn't really contribute to their game plan at all outside of that one specific matchup. If you are absolutely dead set on using Bastion however, this is probably the ideal way to fit it into a deck.
