Provoke Whistling Blade is a Common Neutral Minion. It costs seven cores has two attack fifteen health and Provoke. It is one of the highest cost minions in the game. War Talon is another seven core minion with Provoke. In comparison War Talon has two more attack and six less health but also has Frenzy. Whistling Blade is the highest health Provoke unit in the game, and it can easily lock down your opponent if they do not have hard removal.

Whistling Blade only takes a three stat penalty for its Provoke and has very high health. However, it's stat distribution is extremely defensive, and it's very unlikely that its two attack could kill anything, especially on turn seven. That said it is good for stalling your opponent if you are trying to draw a specific combo. It can also lock down the board in a pinch.

Perhaps its best use is when it is combined with Divine Bond to create a nine core 17/15 with Provoke. If your opponent cannot remove it, you basically win the game.

Beware of Abyssian! Their Nightsorrow Assassin can kill Whistling Blade for free.
